There’s something about slowing down and putting pen to paper that always brings me back to myself. If you’ve been here for a while, you already know, journaling and writing aren’t just habits for me, they’re grounding, clarifying, and honestly, a little bit magical.

Why I Always Come Back to Writing

Writing has this quiet way of organizing your thoughts without asking for perfection. You don’t need the right words, you just need some words. And somehow, that’s enough to get you moving again.

On the days when everything feels loud, writing softens it.
On the days when I feel stuck, writing creates a door.

A Book That Found Me at the Right Time

I recently got my hands on The Big Unlock by Laura Rubin, and it feels like one of those books that meets you exactly where you are.

Laura shares her perspective on what really motivates us to write, not in a rigid or overly academic way, but in a way that feels accessible and honest. You can tell she understands the creative blocks, the hesitation, and the desire to say something meaningful.

And the prompts? That’s where it really shines.

They’re the kind of prompts that gently nudge you forward on the days when your mind feels blank. Not overwhelming, not complicated, just enough to get the pen moving again.

For the Days You Feel Stuck

We all have them, the days where you want to write but nothing comes out.

That’s where guided prompts can be a game changer. They remove the pressure of figuring out where to start and replace it with a simple invitation: just begin.

No pressure to be profound.
No expectation to be perfect.
Just write.

A Little Something to Look Forward To

I’m really excited about this, Laura Rubin will be joining me soon on The Corey Podcast. And if this book is any indication, the conversation is going to be full of insight, honesty, and creativity.

This Weekend, Try This

Carve out a little time for yourself.

A quiet morning.
A late-night moment.
A blank page waiting without judgment.

Write something small.
Write something messy.
Write something just for you.

One Last Thing Before I Go…

I hope you give yourself the space to slow down and reconnect with your thoughts this weekend.

Have a beautiful, calm, and writing—filled weekend ❤️
